概览

Overview

「签证」（Visa）通常由美国驻外使领馆贴签；在美国境内多数情形办理的是身份变更/延长（Change/Extension of Status，向 USCIS 递件），不产生新签证贴纸。

“Visas” are issued at U.S. consulates abroad. Inside the U.S., applicants typically file status changes/extensions with USCIS (no new visa foil).

两条办理路径

Two Tracks

A. 境外签证贴签（Consular Processing） A. Consular Processing (outside U.S.)
  • 非移民：在线填写 DS-160，缴 MRV 费，预约面谈 → 领馆审理 → 贴签
  • 移民：DS-260（经 NVC），体检与面谈 → 贴签
  • Nonimmigrant: DS-160 → MRV fee → appointment → interview → visa issuance
  • Immigrant: DS-260 via NVC → medical & interview → visa issuance
B. 境内身份变更/延长（USCIS） B. Change/Extend Status (inside U.S.)
  • 常见表格：I-539（B/F/M/J 等延长或变更）、I-765（工卡）、I-130/I-485（亲属移民调整身份）、I-131（回美证/旅行证件）等
  • 获批后获得新的身份有效期，如需出境再入境仍需有效签证贴纸
  • Common forms: I-539 (extend/change), I-765 (EAD), I-130/I-485 (AOS), I-131 (travel), etc.
  • Approval gives a new status period; consular visa may still be required for future reentry.

  2. 在线表格（如 DS-160 或 USCIS 表格）与证件照
  3. 支付费用（MRV/USCIS 等）
  4. 预约面谈或提交纸/网申（境内 USCIS 或领馆）
  5. 准备材料（邀请/录取/I-20/工作函/财力…）
  6. 参加面谈（如需），录指纹/回答问题
  7. 等待审理（可能遇到 221(g) 或行政审理）
  8. 领取护照与签证，或收到批复/补件通知
